Generally my quotes are based on the word count of your document, the nature of the text and your time frame. Quotes are valid for at least 14 days.

Translations

Simple everyday texts cost less than a complex scientific text or an elaborate speech. I charge a minimum price of £25.00 for the translation of short texts with a low word count. If you want me to translate shorter texts on a regular basis, for instance emails or social media texts, I can offer you a »Goody-Bag« based on the price per word for longer texts.

Proofreading/Editing

The basic price for proofreading is £0.03 per word (I am open to negotiating special prices for large texts). This price rate applies to professionally translated texts that need to be checked for typos, omissions or punctuation errors. Non-professionally generated texts or software-translated texts often tend to cross over into »language polishing« or editing and need to be negotiated separately. You will be able to see all changes to your text in a »tracked« version and read the amended text in a second »untracked« version.

Payment

New customers will need to pay between 50% – for large projects – and 100% – for short texts – of the quoted fee in advance. If the advance payment is a part of the total fee then the balance is due on delivery of the translated text.

Returning customers pay on delivery of the completed work.

No VAT is added to the prices.
